Calling All Seafood Lovers!

POINT LOMA SEAFOODS

2805 Emerson St.

"The freshest thing in town!"
Point Loma Seafoods is a local favorite indeed. If the practically-just-out-of-the-water seafood doesn't entice you to check it out, then maybe the fact that Rachael Ray featured it on $40 A Day will. It may have been broadcasted on national television, but this little eatery/fish-market never compromised its novelty!

What you'll find: A fresh seafood market, hot seafood plates, fish tacos, sandwiches, soups and sides.

Recommendation: Go for the crabcake sandwich

Bonus: They use cholesterol-free soybean oil so you can enjoy quality food while watching your waistline.

Disclaimer: It's usually packed every single day of the week. But don't worry, patience is a virtue and it's definitely worth the wait!

Farmers Markets

So it's that time of the week to restock your refrigerator, but you're a little jaded of those big grocery store chains.
Aisle upon aisle of mass-produced/pre-packaged goods and produce "on steroids" are making you wish for a better alternative.
If this sounds like you or if you just want to get some fresh air while shopping for groceries, check out a Farmers Market in the San Diego County. There's one everyday  in every area so you can't miss them!

What you'll find: Organic fruits and vegetables, herbs, flowers, plants, pastries, meats, olive oil, pastas, a variety of ethnic foods, artisans, and most importantly plenty of free samples.

Click here to find markets in your San Diego neighborhood.

Personal favorite: Little Italy Mercato

La Jolla Cove

The La Jolla Cove is a must-see in San Diego. Take your loved one, your family, or even enjoy your own company here by taking a stroll around the cove and enjoying the exquisite view.

On weekends, especially on those perfect sunny Sunday mornings, you'll usually find many locals and tourists doing a variety of things from walking their dogs, running, watching the seals flap about in the water, having picnics, photo shoots, weddings, to tanning and swimming!

La Jolla Cove is more than just a beautiful site and is a perfect outing for any occasion. If you haven't already been there, check it out (because who knows how long this seemingly extended summer will last)!
